To rewrite an old adage, “In Spring, a young man’s fancy turns to thoughts of . . . BASEBALL!” The KidLit team was thinking just that when they put together this great raffle item for their upcoming trivia night fundraiser: Trivia Night 2 on Sat. April 10, 2010 (more details about Trivia Night 2 are here.)

“There are many Cub fans in the Princeton area, so I contacted the Chicago Cubs Wives’ Club to see if they could help us out in some way, and they really came through,” said LuAnn Salz, coordinator of KidLit. The Cubs Organization donated an autographed photo of third baseman Aramis Ramirez. Salz had it mounted along with five different Ramirez baseball cards. “I’m no memorabilia expert, so I got a little help from some friends in choosing some good cards, and Steve Coven at Portrait Designs was kind enough to donate the mounting.”

The finished product is on display at Central Bank, 317 S. Main Street in Princeton. The photo comes with a letter of authenticity from the Chicago Cubs Organization. The item’s retail value is approximately $150.

Tickets for the Ramirez Framed Collection are $2 each or 6 tickets for $10. You can buy tickets at Central Bank in Princeton IL during regular business hours. We will have tickets available for sale until 11:00 a.m. Sat. April 10, 2010. The drawing will be held that night during Trivia Night 2. You do not need to be present to win.
